Life returns to Mosul’s markets; Bombing Mosul is daily; and Ba’athists announce that ISIS is “their target”

Bombing has become daily on Mosul. A drone (airplane without pilot) fired two missiles today which we have not been able to know its place yet; however, it’s most likely to be [Al-Faisaliya] area which is crowded with people.

Life has returned to Mosul’s central markets today in [Al-Sirchikhana, Bab Al-Toob, Bab Al-Sarrai, Al-Kurneesh] areas. Doors of shops were opened following closure that lasted a month.

Many of Mosul’s people pin their hopes to the Parliament hearing which is scheduled for the 13th of this month. It’s a similar hope to the one which they had when ISIS took over the city for the first time.

Ba’athists announce that ISIS is [their target] after the end of the political crisis with Baghdad. There is great fear that clashes would happen between ISIS and the Ba’athists in the city which makes the possibility of ending the crisis in Mosul impossible.

A scene happened in front of me today and I could not shut up. A Saudi with disgusting smell came along with an Iraqi asking to buy a Keffiyeh and A’gal [Arab men put on their heads]. The shop’s owner started praising him and ISIS. I went over to them [my beard is long so they thought that I am one of them] and I told him that it is said that Al- A’gal is haram [forbidden] to be worn because it’s not part of the Islamic Law [Sharia’a]. He looked at me and said [may God reward you]. I said: “for what”? He said “because you warned me before I commit a sin. I told him “buy an Aleppo soap and a loofa as tomorrow is a Friday, you’ll need them”. After he left, I started telling the shop’s owner off.
