Mosul Eye contributes to establishing Ashurbanipal Library in Mosul

Mosul Eye is contributing to the establishment of the Ashurbanipal Library opened at the College of Archaeology in Mosul. We’ve delivered books on Iraq’s ancient history donated by Eleanor Coghill, professor of Semitic Languages at Uppsala University, the oldest university in Sweden and all of the Nordic countries still in operation, founded in 1477.

Since the launch of Mosul Eye campaign to revive the libraries of Mosul in late 2016, we’ve delivered more than 70,000 books in various subjects.

  1. Thank you for this post – wonderful to see the books in their new home! I just want to say that the books were not just from me but also donated by my colleagues at Uppsala (Dept. of Linguistics and Philology, Semitic Section).
